INTRODUCTION

SapuraKencana Petroleum Berhad (“Company”) is pleased to announce that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Crest Tender Rigs Pte Ltd (“CTR”), has been awarded a contract for the Provision of Tender Assist Rig Services for the tender assist rig SKD T-9 (“T-9” Contract) by PTTEP International Limited (“PTTEPI”).

PTTEPI intend to use SKD T-9 for its Zawtika development drilling campaign offshore Myanmar.

INFORMATION ON THE CONTRACT

T-9 Contract will be commencing in July 2013, the initial operational period is approximately 300 days.

The total T-9 Contract value is expected to be United States Dollars Forty Million (USD 40,000,000).

FINANCIAL EFFECTS

The award of the T-9 Contract will have no effect on the issued and paid-up capital of the Company.

The award of the T-9 Contract is expected to contribute positively to the Group's earnings and net assets per share for the financial year ending 31 January 2014 and the financial periods thereafter in the duration of the T-9 Contract.

RISK FACTORS

Risk factors affecting the T-9 Contract include execution risks such as availability of skilled manpower and materials, changes in costs and changes in political, economic and regulatory conditions.  Notwithstanding, the Company has throughout the years established a substantial track record undertaking similar projects. As such, management believes that the Company will be able to mitigate such risk factors.

MAJOR SHAREHOLDERS’ AND DIRECTORS’ INTERESTS

None of the Directors and/or major shareholders of the Company nor do persons connected with them have any direct or indirect interest in the award of the T-9 Contract.

DIRECTORS' STATEMENT

The Board of Directors of the Company is of the opinion that the acceptance of the T-9 Contract is in the best interest of the Company.
