UMW wishes to announce that Seat Industries (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (“SIMSB”), its dormant subsidiary incorporated in Malaysia, is being placed under members’ voluntary winding up (“the liquidation”) pursuant to Section 254(1)(b) of the Companies Act, 1965, in order to save costs in maintaining the company further.

The above subsidiary has today appointed Ms Lam Suk Kham of LP-One Corporate Secretarial Sdn Bhd as Liquidator of SIMSB, for purposes of the liquidation.

Other than the liquidation expenses, there is no material impact on the net tangible assets and earnings per share of the Group for the financial year ending 31^st December 2011 arising from the liquidation.
