We refer to the announcement dated 30th September 2009, made on behalf of UMW Holdings Berhad (“UMW” or “the Company”) by AmInvestment Bank Berhad with regard to the intention of not seeking further extension of time from the Securities Commission to implement the following proposals -

1)  Proposed Internal Restructuring of the UMW Group of Companies (“Proposed Internal Restructuring”); and

2)  Proposed Listing of UMW Oil & Gas Berhad on the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad.

UMW wishes to announce that it is planning to list its Oil & Gas Division and is now in the midst of finalising the appointment of Advisers for the Proposed Listing.  Details of the Proposed Listing have not been finalised to date.
