| Working experience and occupation | Formerly the Chief Executive Officer and Director-General of the Inland Revenue Board (IRB), Tan Sri Hasmah had a distinguished career with IRB spanning over 38 years. At IRB, she led the Malaysian delegation to various international conferences and represented Malaysia on the Management Committee of the Commonwealth Association of Tax Administrators in London from 2007 to 2009. Under her leadership, IRB was awarded the inaugural Prime Ministers Innovation Award in 2009 in recognition of the vast improvements and innovations introduced to the tax-paying public. She was also a Tax Advisor to PricewaterhouseCoopers Taxation Services Sdn Bhd, a Commission Member of the Securities Commission of Malaysia and the Chairperson of the Tax Reform Committee, Malaysia. Tan Sri Hasmah is currently a member of the Board of Trustees of the Malaysian Tax Research Foundation, Board of Trustees of the Dana Amal Jariah, Board of Trustees of Yayasan Allammiyyah, and Board of Trustees of Alzheimers Disease Foundation Malaysia. She is also the Executive Council Member, Selangor and Federal Territory Association for the Mentally Handicapped and a Fellow Member of the Chartered Tax Institute of Malaysia. |
