In relation to the statement in the said article which states that IOICORP may make general offer for Palmco Holdings Berhad, we wish to confirm that the statement is not true as the Company has no plan to make such general offer.
This announcement is dated 5 September 2003.

We refer to the above article appearing in Sin Chew Daily, Sin Chew Business
Section, page 3, on Thursday, 4 September 2003, a copy of which is enclosed
for your reference.
In particular, we would like to draw your attention to the statement which
states that IOICORP may make general offer for Palmco Holdings Berhad.
