AmanahRaya-JMF
Asset Management Sdn Bhd ("ARJMF"), the Manager of AmanahRaya REIT
wishes to inform Bursa Malaysia with regards to the collapsed
wall/landslip that occurred off Jalan Semantan on Thursday, 4 December
2008 which is adjacent to Wisma Amanah Raya Berhad. The said building
is currently leased to CIMB Investment Bank Berhad ("CIMB").
The said building had been evacuated by CIMB, as advised by Dewan
Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur ("DBKL") as a preventive measure to ensure the
safety of its employees. DBKL has also instructed Institut Kerja Raya
Malaysia ("IKRAM") to conduct soil test and investigations on the
matter.
While there are no visual signs of structural distress to the building
and the adjacent area, DBKL has instructed the landowner of the
landslip area that immediate steps be taken to provide remedial measure
to the affected area to prevent any further soil erosion.
At this juncture, the current steps taken by ARJMF are, inter alia, the following:
(1) Appointment of a geologist firm to provide geotechnical assessment
of the affected surrounding area of the building, which is in addition
to the appointment of IKRAM by DBKL;
(2) Continuous consultations with IKRAM which is currently monitoring
the surrounding area for any more soil movement, if any; and
(3) Continuous updates to CIMB, the master lessee of Wisma Amanah Raya Berhad on the status of the building.
ARJMF will update Bursa Malaysia on the status of the Wisma Amanah Raya
Berhad when further information is available by DBKL, IKRAM and/or
ARJMF's appointed geologist firm. |
